Applying for an ICE Grant

ICE seeks creative ideas and can often provide an organization with the means to fulfill them! We encourage the involvement of citizens from a broad range of interests and backgrounds. No partisan, commercial, or special interests are advanced. Requests for assistance are considered as they relate to the present and future well-being of Indiana County.

The Endowment encourages requests that meet a need in, but are not limited to, the following categories:

  • support services in such areas as health, education, environment, and recreation
  • seed money for start-up costs
  • equipment or facility need
  • the possibility of generating additional funding
  • research of a specialized or technical nature
  • scholarships or fellowships to improve the effectiveness of an organization

Please note that ICE does have some specific limitations, and is unable to consider grants for:

  • annual fund-raising campaigns
  • the support of sectarian religious activities (grants can, however, be made to churches for other purposes)
  • capital funds
  • support of operating or maintenance budgets
  • individuals, or individual hospitals

When applying for a grant, be sure to provide the following information for your organization: name of organization, official/complete address, phone number, name of person writing grant application, and title of the person making the application.

Other questions: Is your organization a federally tax exempt charitable corporation (indicate Yes or No). If Yes, please provide your Federal Tax Number which indicates you are exempt from federal taxes. If No, please provide additional data.

On separate pages, you will also need to provide a program description of what you wish to have funded, including an estimate of the time period required to complete your project. Be sure to answer these questions:

  • Specifically, how will the funds, if given by ICE, be used?
  • Specifically, how much money are you requesting from ICE for the above purpose?
  • How will your organization evaluate the effectiveness of the project for which you have requested funding? Please describe your evaluation process.
  • Will you be willing to report back to ICE when your project is completed, giving details of your evaluation and the benefits to Indiana County? (Indicate Yes or No.) If Yes, please state how this report will be communicated to ICE.
  • If the grant funds of ICE will be matched by any other sources of income, please detail what sources, and in what amounts.
